A Women's History Month Celebration
Tuberculosis infected millions throughout history, and Staten Islanders were no exception. In the 1940s, 300 Seaview Hospital nurses, all African American women, took care of over 2,000 tuberculosis patients. They were called the Black Angels—and producer Denetra Hampton made it her mission to share the story of Staten Island Black Angel, Marjorie Tucker Reed.
